Valencia Marketplace officials invited Santa Clarita residents and other local businesses to enjoy a Halloween-themed, family-friendly event Saturday afternoon, complete with music, magic, prizes, candy and crafts.

The outdoor event, held in the Valencia Marketplace shopping center, featured performances from Bridgeport Elementary School’s choral group, Magic Castle magician Dennis Forel, and a costume parade.

Along with the stage acts and live performances, children received candy by “trick-or-treating” the various business booths and the Stevenson Ranch Library. Those children, 12-years-old or younger, were allowed to participate in creating Halloween crafts, lead by staff members of the Montessori School of Stevenson Ranch.

Additionally, children and their families took pictures with the KHTS fire truck, while the local radio station played Halloween themed music in-between the live performances.

“These types of events are important for us because we like to get out into the community, meet our listeners and be of assistance in any way possible,” said KHTS Station Manager Kyle Jellings. “It’s hot out here today, but it’s fun to get into the spirit of Halloween and contribute to these types of family-orientated events.”

This is not the first community outreach event the Valencia Marketplace has done.

In the past, the shopping center has invited Santa Clarita residents to Mother’s Day and Tree Lighting events, as well as other holiday occasions.
