The event is scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 20, from 2-5 p.m.

“Enjoy a hand-picked selection of three red and three white wines, tasty hors d’oeuvres and a fun lesson in all things wine,” said Stacey Titter, vice president of the West Ranch hockey team.

Tickets are being sold for $75 and those in attendance must be 21 or older, Titter said.

“The money that is raised will go toward renting out the ice station, games and tournament fees,” said Titter.

This is the first year that the West Ranch hockey team has had someone from the NHL come to host one of the their fundraisers, she said.

“We will try to have Jim come back for future events, but we haven’t worked anything out with him yet,” said Titter.

The fundraiser will take place at 27001 Mirasol Street in Valencia. Tickets are limited, as the venue can only hold 40 guests.

About Louie Diaz

Louie was born and raised in Santa Clarita. At the age of two Louie lost his vision due to a brain tumor. However, Louie doesn't let blindness stop him from doing what ever it is he wants to accomplish. Growing up some of his favorite hobbies were wood working, fishing and riding bikes. Louie graduated from College of the Canyon in December of 2017, with a Broadcast Journalism degree. Growing up Louie has always wanted to be a fire fighter or a police officer, but because of his blindness Louie knew that wouldn't work. Louie has always loved listening to police and fire radio traffic, using a scanner, and he figured if he was going to listen to the scanner so much, he should do something with it.
