The Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station will host a ‘National Night Out’ Against Crime event at Old Orchard Park, located at 25023 Avenida Rotella, Valencia on Tuesday, August 4th from 5:00 to 8:00 pm.
Sponsored for the last 25 years by the National Association of Town Watch, ‘National Night Out’ is a nationwide event in which over 11,000 communities participate to promote community safety.
The Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station looks at the event as a wonderful opportunity to heighten crime and drug prevention awareness, generate support for local crime prevention efforts and programs, and send a message that our neighborhoods and residents are organized and vigilant.
“It is our partnership with the community throughout the year that helps us keep our community safe,” said Captain Anthony La Berge of the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station. “National Night Out is an opportunity for us to get together, enjoy a festive evening, and talk about crime prevention and reduction efforts. We need the involvement of our residents in everything we do and we hope you will bring your families out and join us!” He added.
This year’s event will feature the Sheriff’s Posse; crafts; games for the kids; the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff Station’s Search and Rescue Team; the Los Angeles County Fire Department; the California Highway Patrol; the City of Santa Clarita Park Mobile, Graffiti Task Force, and CERT program; and child fingerprinting services. Refreshments will also be provided.
Residents, business leaders, community representatives, and media professionals are invited and encouraged to attend the event.
