Family and friends have now created a GoFundMe page have been set up to help support her during her recovery from several costly procedures.

Amanda and Jacob Maxwell found out six months ago, that not only was Amanda pregnant, but she was pregnant with two baby boys.

The typical exuberance and preparation began, and then the couple received some unfortunate news just three months later, according to the GoFundMe page.

Their doctor began talking about the possibility of a pregnancy complication called Twin to Twin Transfusion Syndrome, which essentially means that because the babies are sharing their source of blood, the distribution can be uneven and lead to one of the babies not getting enough oxygen to survive.

The Maxwell’s continued to visit their doctor every Wednesday to monitor the twins and check their fluid levels.

Earlier this month, however, the unborn twins were diagnosed with Stage II TTTS (Twin To Twin Transfusion Syndrome) and Amanda was rushed to the hospital for emergency surgery.

A few days and two successful surgeries later, the Maxwell’s returned to their home to begin Amanda’s healing process.

“I have set up this fund to collect donations to be applied to the hospital bills as well make up for the lost income. I also asked Amanda to send me her registries that she made at Baby’s R Us as well as Buy Buy Baby and in hopes that we can get some items checked off her lists,” said Jenn Basse West, creator of the GoFundMe page.

“Jacob and Amanda are so grateful for any donations or gifts they will be blessed with and send much love and gratitude. Let’s come together as friends and family of the Maxwell’s to ensure their first children have all they need to start a happy and healthy life and the parents can focus on raising their boys.”
