Community Workshop Set August 18 For North Newhall

khts_citymatters_scvlogoA community workshop to select a preferred land use alternative for the Compass Plan area of North Newhall is scheduled from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, August 18 at Hart Hall in William S. Hart Park.

The Compass Plan Area is within the special standards area of Newhall Redevelopment and is bordered on the north by Via Princessa; on the east, one block short of Alderbrook; Market Street on the south and Pine and Spruce Streets on the west.

The public is invited to participate in the process in which three alternatives will be presented by city staff and consultants. Newhall area property owners, business owners and residents as well as anyone interested in being part of the planning process of the area should attend.

The workshop will also address key themes to consider for the plan area, such as land use compatibilities, appropriate densities of development, pedestrian circulation, streetscape conditions and connections to local and regional destinations.
