Concerts In The Parks Series Blasts Off!

The City of Santa Clarita presents the first performance in the 16th Annual Concerts in the Park series!

The concert festivities at Central Park this year will kick-off on July 9, 2005 at 7:00 pm with Doc Rock-It & the Radio Flyers! All concerts are free and open to the public. The Concerts in the Park series runs Saturday evenings from July through August and each week highlights a different exciting group. Central Park is located at 27150 Bouquet Canyon Road.

This summer, familiar tunes will drift through the park as the City has lined up a full season of tribute bands. The City encourages families, friends, and neighbors to come out and hear Doc Rock-It & the Radio Flyers kick-off the summer with the rock and roll classics of the fifties and sixties!

Food and beverages are available at the park from popular vendor Boungusto, and many families also enjoy bringing their own picnic dinners. For the safety of everyone in attendance, barbeques are not permitted at the park.

“The Concerts in the Park are a tradition in Santa Clarita and we are happy to bring it back for a sixteenth year,” said Phil Lantis, Arts & Events Administrator for the City. “We are so pleased to begin the series this year with Doc Rock-It & the Radio Flyers, who are always a crowd favorite.”

Parking spaces at the park are limited and this is a popular event, so residents are encouraged to arrive early. A reminder, videotaping is not permitted at the concerts.
