Congregation Beth Shalom Rededicates Synagogue

To celebrate its past and future, Congregation Beth Shalom will be rededicating its Synagogue on December 1st.

The Hebrew word "Chanukah" means "Dedication;" so, in the spirit of this holiday season, Congregation Beth Shalom of the Santa Clarita Valley honors its worthy past and vibrant future with a "Rededication" Celebration to be held at its Santa Clarita synagogue on Saturday, December 1, 2007.

CBS welcomes the community to join in the celebration, which begins at 5:15 p.m. with a sundown service ("Havdalah") led by Rabbi Ira Rosenfeld and Cantor Beth Wasserman Rosenfeld. Come sing Chanukah songs, make crafts and play games, eat pizza, salad and latkes, and enjoy an evening of music and fun. Guests are invited also to participate in our Mitzvah ("Good Deeds") Projects make a get-well card for ill children in our community, or donate a new or gently-used sports jersey to children in Africa.

Congregation Beth Shalom of the Santa Clarita Valley is a Conservative Jewish congregation. It has served the community since 1976, for the past 11 years at its present Centre Pointe Parkway location. CBS eagerly anticipates breaking ground on a new social hall and synagogue to be built on the site of its present parking lot. Grading for a new parking area to make way for the new building is expected to begin this month.

CBS is located at 21430 Centre Pointe Parkway, Santa Clarita, CA 91350, between Soledad Canyon and Golden Valley Road. For more information about the CBS Rededication, or directions to the synagogue, please call Mary Smith or Rabbi Ira at 254-2411.
