The public is invited to discover all that Congregation Beth Shalom of the Santa Clarita Valley has to offer at a series of summer Open Houses to be held at the Canyon Country synagogue, the first of which will be held on Sunday, August 26, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

Additional CBS Open Houses are scheduled for Thursday, August 30, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., Sunday, September 9, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., and Tuesday, September 11, from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

[view:node_ad=5]In addition to Friday evening and Saturday morning Shabbat services, CBS offers a variety of programs for adults and youth, including:

• 2-day-a-week Bureau Accredited Religious School
• Early Childhood Education Center – preschool/childcare with emphasis on Judaic curriculum
• Monthly Family Service and Tot Shabbat
• Holiday Programs
• Adult Education/Adult B’nai Mitzvah Training
• Youth Groups (grades 1 through high school)
• Adult and Youth Choir
• Havurah – groups for families, singles and seniors

CBS recently welcomed new spiritual leaders to its Conservative congregation, Rabbi Ira Rosenfeld and Cantor Beth Wasserman Rosenfeld, a married couple, who are working together for the first time at the same congregation. Both Rabbi Ira and Cantor Beth look forward to meeting you. CBS is also eagerly anticipating breaking ground this fall on a new social hall and synagogue to be built on the site of its present parking lot. Grading for a new parking area is expected to begin this month.

Those interested in membership at CBS can take advantage of a first-year 50% dues discount, and a 25% second-year discount. CBS is currently raffling a chance to win a fully-paid 2007/2008 CBS Membership (excluding Religious School fees). A limited number of tickets are still being offered for a donation of $100 each.
