Benjamin Alexander Borick, 20, of Newhall was killed in a motorcycle crash Thursday, said Ed Winter of the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Department.

He died Thursday morning in a collision with a sports utility vehicle at 7:15 a.m., said Officer Francisco Villalobos of the California Highway Patrol.

Borick was traveling westbound on Highway 126, just east of Chiquito Canyon Road, on a 2005 Kawasaki EX500D at a high rate of speed, according to the CHP report. James Loveless, a 61-year-old Val Verde man,was heading southbound on Chiquito Canyon Road, stopped at a stop sign, and was preparing to turn left onto 126 heading eastbound.

Borick lost control of his motorcycle and collided into the left side of Loveless’ 1994 GMC Suburban, according to the report.

“We still have about four or five units on scene, we had one fatality at the scene,” Villalobos said. “Coroner’s (Department) officers are investigating the scene, as we are investigating the incident.”
