The Board of Supervisors approved a lease modification with the City of Santa Clarita allowing the County to move forward with the expansion and refurbishment of the Canyon Country Jo Anne Darcy Library, according to Supervisor Mike Antonovich.

The modification agreement requires the City to pay the County $1.2 million to complete the remodeling project while prohibiting it from charging County unincorporated residents more than City residents for five years.

The total project cost for the remodeling project is $2,052,000 and involves refurbishment of 4,500 square feet of library space and the purchase of new furniture, equipment and materials.
