County Board Gives Money To Mentally Ill Vets

The Board of Supervisors approved a Federal grant for nearly $850,000 to provide for the mental health needs of homeless veterans with serious mental illness.

  “Today’s action will help the County identify and treat homeless veterans to ensure they receive the vital mental health services needed to live a productive life,” said Supervisor Antonovich.  “Providing mental health care to our County’s homeless mentally ill and substance or alcohol addicted must be a top priority if we are effectively address the county’s homelessness problem.”

 

Substance Abuse and Mental Services Administration Federal Block Grants are used for the provision of integrated services to adults and older adults with serious mental illness and children with a serious emotional disturbance.
