Despite all of the hullabaloo surrounding the City of Santa Clarita’s takeover of the city’s libraries, the Los Angeles County Library system has not turned their back on the region.
Plans for a County of Los Angeles Public Library in the West Ranch community is moving forward with a call for residents to participate in one of several demographic focus groups.
A kick off meeting was held June 7 with a Power Point presentation that can viewed on their website by clicking here.

While on the website interested parties can also fill out an online survey.
At the next community meeting, September 7 at 6:30 p.m. at a location to be announced, representatives of the county will present the survey results and continue the conversation that began at the June meeting.
Anyone interested in participating in a focus group can email Library Planning Consultant Linda Demmers at firstname.lastname@example.org, with the following focus group areas in the subject line:
- Service for Teens
- Service for Children
- Service for Seniors
The county will contact you and ask you to participate in a 45 to 60 minute focused discussion on library services to these specific demographic groups.
