Couple In Custody After Deputies Find Stolen Gun

A man and a woman are in custody Thursday after a road rage incident led to two arrests at the 31400 block of Ridge Route Road in Castaic, said a Sheriff’s Department official.

“There was an incident this morning, about two adult males were involved in a verbal altercation at a gas station,” said Deputy Josh Dubin. “The suspect made reference to a firearm on his person and then he fled across the street to a hotel room (at the Castaic Inn).”

The victim flagged down a nearby CHP officer who requested backup from the Sheriff’s Department, Dubin said.

“When we got there we contained the hotel, we ordered (the suspect) out, he came out and was taken into custody without incident,” he said.

A stolen handgun believed to be registered to a Northern California address was found on the man’s possession, according to officials. A woman who was in the room with the man is being investigated for narcotics charges.

Officials did not release the names of the suspects because the investigation was ongoing.
