Crime Reports For This Week In The SCV — 11/5 to 11/12

A local gang member is in custody and another handgun is off the streets, after an alert deputy caught an early parolee who’s now headed back to jail, according to a Sheriff’s Department official.

The news comes with the release of the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station weekly crime reports for the SCV and Newhall, where the felony arrest was made.

A deputy conducted a traffic stop on Pine Street and 6th Street, and after an investigation it was determined that 29-year-old Newhall resident Martin Servin was in possession of a loaded handgun.

Both Servin and Gerardo Silva, of Pacoima, also are suspected of being involved in the burglary last month of a Petco.

Servin is currently being held without bail at the Pitchess Detention Center. Servin was on parole under the Post Release Community Supervision program that granted early parole to criminals who committed nonviolent, nonsexual crimes, according to a Sheriff’s Department statement.
