Four male adults were arrested in the 31700 block of Castaic Road in Castaic. The suspects were arrested on prostitution-related charges after they solicited sex acts from an undercover Sheriff’s deputy walking on Castaic Road.

Seven male adults were arrested in the 25200 block of The Old Road in Stevenson Ranch after responding to sexually suggestive ads placed on several internet sites. Each of the males agreed to meet undercover Sheriff’s deputies at a local hotel for the purposes of commercial sex.

All those arrested during this operation were transported to and booked at the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.

The operation included task force partners from the Los Angeles Unified School District Police Department and the Los Angeles County Probation Department.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff Department’s Human Trafficking Bureau houses the L.A. Regional Human Trafficking Task Force, the nation’s largest co-located human trafficking task force.

The task force is a collaboration of federal, state, county and local law enforcement; a social service agency; and non-government and community-based organizations investigating and serving the needs of commercially exploited adults and minors victimized for the purpose of sex and labor.

The LA Regional Human Trafficking Task Force brings together systems and disciplines to address victims’ needs through a victim-centered, trauma-informed approach. The task force employs a regionalized strategy that crosses jurisdictional boundaries to identify and rescue victims while aggressively pursuing traffickers and buyers.

  1. Nothing in the press release made reference to human trafficking. This sounds like a prostitution investigation. The term “human trafficking” is grossly overused.

  2. Why is the headline stating that it was in Santa Clarita when Stevenson Ranch and Castaic are not part of Santa Clarita. I’m tired of the news looping communities that aren’t in Santa Clarita as part of Santa Clarita. This is just part of the problem of Santa Clarita’s bad rap; we are being blamed for things that have nothing to do with us. San Fernando, Auga Dulce, and Acton are also close but are not part of Santa Clarita. I wish the news would stop grouping other communities in with Santa Clarita.

  3. What has happened to our once safe & beautiful community?!
Not very Awesome for Awesome Town.

    • What’s happened is that we won’t stop building homes a feverish pace and the growth of population that goes with it. SCV is no longer the small town it once was so with our big aspirations we inherit big town problems.

  4. Good point Patrick! See Related: Human Trafficking Task Force Arrests Santa Clarita Woman Among 36 Caught In Operation – link in article.
