Four Arrested After Armed Robbery Of Castaic Hotel

Four people were arrested after Santa Clarita Deputies tracked down a suspect who allegedly robbed a Castaic hotel for drug money.

An armed robber stole around $50 from the Rodeway Inn of Castaic, Saturday afternoon.

Initial reports led deputies to believe a man in his 20s, wearing a dark shirt and dark pants, robbed the store with a black handgun, according to officials from the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.

After reviewing footage from the inn, deputies tracked a suspect to an RV park, where he allegedly was caught completing a drug deal.

“When our deputies tracked down this individual we found a person with narcotics,” said Lt. Leo Bauer with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station. “Our deputies saw the dope dealer coming away from our suspect and stopped both of them.”

Deputies recovered drugs and a gun believed to have been used in the robbery during the arrest.

In an unrelated incident, deputies found two parolees parked inches away from the scene of the arrest.

After questioning the two individuals, deputies discovered the onlookers had two “no bail” warrants for their arrest.
