A reported assault in Newhall led to the arrest of two people Tuesday, officials said.

Multiple people were detained for questioning in relation to the incident, which took place around 12 p.m. near the Newhall Metrolink Station on Railroad Avenue, according to Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s officials.

“We have detained two suspects for questioning,” said Lt. Mohrhoff. “We are still actively investigating the incident.”

The two people detained Tuesday were later placed under arrest and transported to the Santa Clarita Valley Sherrif’s Station, said officials.

A man was placed on a stretcher and loaded into an ambulance, according to a KHTS reporter at the scene.

A witness said the man was “screaming at people” for unknown reasons in the minutes leading up to the incident.
