Juan Covarrubias, 44, was arrested by Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station deputies Wednesday morning, according to arrest records, on charges related to the attempted kidnapping of an 8-year-old girl.
“They were related to each other,” said Shirley Miller, a spokeswoman for the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station. “The uncle of an eight-year-old girl attempted to pick her up from school.”
Covarrubias was not approved to pick up the girl, Miller said, and was “not on good terms with the family.”
