The first step is vehicle inspection:

  • All vehicles used for defendant transportation are inspected for a safety screen, making sure all of the windows are intact, rear-seat handles and window controls are deactivated and no weapons or contraband have been left behind or hidden in the vehicle.
  • The transporting bail enforcement agent at All American Bail Bonds in Santa Clarita will inspect the interior for weapons or contraband prior to placing the defendant in the vehicle for transport and after the defendant has been delivered to the detention facility or other destination.

The second step is handcuffing or use of restraints:

  • Bail enforcement agents at All American Bail Bonds in Santa Clarita will handcuff all defendants with their hands behind their back and palms facing outwards.
  • The defendant may be handcuffed from the front if:
    • The defendant is in an obvious state of pregnancy.
    • Has a physical handicap.
    • Has injuries that could be aggravated by standard handcuffing procedures.
  • Additional approved restraint devices may be used to secure a defendant who is violently resisting arrest or who manifests mental disorders such as he or she poses a threat to him or herself or the public.

The last step is transport:

  • Prior to transport, all defendants will be thoroughly searched for any weapons and contraband.
  • Special precautions will be employed when transporting high-risk defendants or defendants over long distances.
  • Defendants will be transported in a manner that allows for constant visual observation and the physical well being of defendants will be monitored during transit.
  • All defendants will be secured in the vehicle with a seat belt and will never be left unattended during transport at anytime.
