“(Paddock) was in court for a preliminary hearing setting today,” said Greg Risling, a spokesman for the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office. “(His preliminary hearing) was continued to Jan. 4.”

However, according to officials with the District Attorney’s office, Paddock’s trial date has not been set yet, meaning that the earliest possible date for him to stand in front of jury is 2018.

The younger brother of Stephen Paddock, who killed 58 people and injured more than 500 on Oct. 1 during the Route 91 concert in Las Vegas, 58-year-old Bruce Paddock pleaded not guilty to charges of possessing more than 600 images of child pornography on Oct. 29.

He was arrested at 8 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 25, by Los Angeles Police Department officers at his North Hollywood home, according to arrest records and a CNN report.

All 20 counts Paddock is charged with are in connection with child pornography that he allegedly collected over an eight month period in 2014, according to officials.

Nineteen of the 20 counts are misdemeanor infractions of penal code section 311.3 (a), sexual exploitation of a child. However, the first count listed states that Paddock also violated penal code section 311.11(c)(1), or knowingly possessing “controlled images of child pornography,” according to the criminal complaint.

Additionally, the felony charge also alleges that Paddock had 10 or more images of a “prepubescent minor or a minor who was under 12 years of age.”

He was released in lieu of $60,000 bail on Oct. 28 at 1:24 a.m.
