Michael McGlothan 53, of Canyon Country, was captured in New York after a nationwide manhunt.

He’s now due in court March 1 , when both sides are expected to set a trial date.

Homicide detectives suspect McGlothan killed Ledarion Allen Jr., 21, of Lancaster, in a Canyon Country apartment last May, also injuring Shatari Shene Cooks, 30, with a gunshot wound.

She was reportedly in stable condition the day after the shooting, which took place on the 25700 block of Sierra Highway in Santa Clarita.

After the shooting in May 2015, McGlothan was identified as the main suspect, and two accomplices were also sought for questioning.

McGlothan eventually was arrested without incident Monday, June 1, 2015, at about 4 p.m. near a highway toll booth on the New York State Thruway in western New York, according to a statement from the police department’s Buffalo office.

McGlothan is being held in lieu of more than $3 million bail.
