Deputies responded around 5:20 p.m. to a shopping plaza located off of Soledad Canyon Rd. in Canyon Country, said Shirley Miller, a spokeswoman for the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.

Heather Hutchinson, 35, allegedly took various beauty products and walked past the register without paying for the items.

“When an employee tried to block suspect from leaving, the suspect used bodily force to push the employee out of the way,” said Miller.

Deputies were able to locate the suspect in the plaza parking lot. Hutchinson was booked at the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station on charges of robbery, burglary and narcotics possession.

Hutchinson had been previously arrested back in October on misdemeanor charges.

Bail was set at $71,250 for Hutchinson’s release. She is set to appear before a judge Jan. 30 for a pretrial hearing at the San Fernando Courthouse.
