A 36-year-old Castaic man was arrested shortly after deputies responded to the 34000 block of Bouquet Canyon Rd. on Jan. 19 after reports of a woman screaming inside a home and a man leaving the scene, said Shirley Miller, a spokeswoman for the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.

Deputies made contact with the woman, who told them she had been fighting with her ex-boyfriend when the altercation turned physical.

The suspect allegedly hit her in the head with a blunt object and poured an alcoholic beverage and cleaning solution on her before trying to light her clothing on fire, Miller said. When the fire didn’t catch, the suspect left the house and fled the scene in a vehicle.

Bail has been set at $1 million, and is set to appear at the San Fernando Courthouse on Tuesday, Jan. 23 for a preliminary hearing.

      • First of all I was assaulted and fled for my life like I told the 911 operator when I called 911 to help me , I never assaulted this crazy alcoholic of a woman in anyway shape or form and have texts messages from yesterday threatening to shoot and kill me while on another one of here daily binges . Btw he who is without son cast the first stone and then write a stupid ads fucking article like this without a shred of validation it doesn’t say how I was falsely arrested falsely imprisoned and then released in county clothing in the middle of sfv with no release forms or any type of paper validating my freedom putting me at immediate risk of re arrest seeing how it’s illegal to do that type of thing .
