The body was found along Pico Canyon Road, across from Southern Oaks Drive, according to officials.

“The body was completely unidentifiable,” said Sgt Eric Metten with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.

Deputies were dispatched to the scene at 11:34 a.m. after receiving a call from a search party that had been searching for the individual in the area, Metten said.

The body was so decomposed that neither the approximate age nor gender of the individual was able to be determined by officials on scene.
