Brother Of Las Vegas Shooter Pleads Not Guilty To Child Pornography Charges, Makes Bail

Bruce Paddock, brother of the Las Vegas shooter, pleaded not guilty to charges he possessed more than 600 images of child pornography, prosecutors told KHTS News.

Bruce Paddock, brother of Stephen Paddock, who killed 58 people and injured more than 500 more in America’s worst mass shooting, is due back in court for child pornography charges on November 3, when he’ll have a bail hearing on the charges.

He was arrested at 8 a.m. on Wednesday, October 25, by Los Angeles Police Department officers at his North Hollywood home, according to arrest records and an L.A. Times report.

He was released in lieu of $60,000 bail on October 28 at 1:24 a.m.

Bruce Paddock was charged with 20 counts in connection with the child pornography.

Paddock’s charges are all associated with child pornography found on his computer dated between January 1 and August 30, 2014, according to court documents obtained by KHTS from the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office.

He’s due back in court for the setting of his preliminary hearing November 9.

Santa Clarita hosted another benefit to support the local victims of the Las Vegas shooting over the weekend.

Hundreds came to support Las Vegas shooting victims from Santa Clarita on Saturday, whether by contributing to the Route 66 fundraising efforts, cheering on those victims who spoke about their experiences or simply showing up as a sign of solidarity.

George Thomas is the owner of Route 66, a restaurant in Canyon Country that held a fundraiser Saturday to support victims of the Las Vegas shooting at the beginning of October.  

“We wanted to create an opportunity for people who were either injured or traumatized by the Route 91 Festival shooting in Las Vegas,” Thomas said. “We put together an opportunity for them to get together in a social atmosphere to share stories with each other and just bond.”
