Russell Harris, 34, of Santa Clarita, is suspected of breaking into a woman’s Los Angeles home in 2016 and sexually assaulting her before fleeing, officials with the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office said.

Harris allegedly broke into three other residences the same day, and either broke into or attempted to break into another three residences the day after, according to prosecutors.

Charges against Harris include one count of assault to commit rape during commission of a first-degree burglary; four counts of first-degree burglary with a person present; one count of first-degree residential burglary; and one count of attempted first-degree residential burglary.

Deputy District Attorney Teresa De Castro with the Sex Crimes Division is prosecuting the case. Bail was set at $2.3 million.

If convicted, Harris faces up to life in state prison.
