A couple accused of murdering a family member in Gorman, kidnapping her children and crossing state lines before federal authorities caught them in Colorado are expected to face charges Tuesday.

The two defendants, Brittney Sue Humphrey, 22, and Joshua Aaron Robertson, 27, are accused of shooting and killing Humphrey’s step-sister, Kimberly Harvill, and kidnapping her three children, ages 5, 3 and 2, in mid-August.
Both have missed several court dates since their arrest and extradition, and have yet to be arraigned for their crimes, according to officials. .
Police also found a missing 18-month-old baby, Madisyn Harper, with Brittany. Robertson was located two blocks away, according to Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
The three children they’re accused of kidnapping, Rylee, Brayden, and Joslynn are now safe with authorities.
They’re believed to have been handed off in New Mexico to the care of a Good Samaritan, who in turn notified local law enforcement.
Officials coordinated efforts with the Department of Children and Family Services to arrange for the safe return of the children to California.
Harvill’s body was found on Sunday, Aug. 14 on a secluded road in Lebec with a gunshot wound to the head. After her body was found, the investigation led police to Humphrey and Robertson who they believed Harvill was living with at the time.
The search for Humphrey and Robertson led police to find Harvill’s children in Albuquerque, New Mexico, on Aug. 24 before finding and arresting Humphrey and Robertson a day later in Colorado.

Police also found a missing 18-month-old baby, Madisyn Harper, with Brittney. Madisyn was found unharmed and is currently in the custody of local authorities. Robertson was found two blocks away from Humphrey, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
While Humphrey awaited extradition from Colorado following her arrest, Robertson was moved to Los Angeles where he refused to appear to in court for his arraignment where he would face one count of possession of a firearm by a felon with two previous charges along with his murder and kidnapping charges shared with Humphrey.
Prosecutors have asked that their bail be set at $2 million. If convicted, both could face a life sentence in prison.
