Deputies received a report of a burglary at the Ralph’s in Granary Square in Valencia on Tuesday evening.
While deputies were responding, one of the store’s employees also called and notified the other Ralph’s stores in the area, with a description of the four suspects, as they were fleeing his store.
The suspected burglary crew: Christopher Curtis, 22; Deandre Johnson, 24; Kenisha Martin 27; and Ranisha Chapple, 29, all of Long Beach; then drove to the Ralph’s on The Old Road, and attempted to commit a similar type of burglary, according to Sheriff’s Station officials.
However, the store employees at the second burglary location recognized the burglary suspects from the descriptions they were given, officials said, and were prepared for the would-be burglars.
When store employees tried to stop two suspects, they became physical and turned their burglary attempt into a strong-arm robbery by physically engaging the store employees in a confrontation while they were trying to flee.
This time, Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station deputies were waiting for the suspects as they fled the store, according to officials, with deputies arresting two of the suspects in their suspected getaway car, and two others who fled were caught nearby as deputies set up a containment.
The four suspects were booked at the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station and released Wednesday afternoon, and due in court Friday to answer to the charges.
The suspects were accused of robbery, burglary, grand theft and conspiracy to steal.
Deputies suspect they recovered approximately $3,000 in stolen goods from both locations, according to Sheriff’s Station reports.
