Francisco Avendaño, 42, entered no contest pleas to 12 counts of lewd act upon a child under 14, two counts of lewd act on a child 14 years old and one count each of lewd act upon a child 15 years old and continuous sexual abuse.

The victims ranged in age from 3 and 15 years old, according to the case’s prosecutor, Julie Kramer, assistant district attorney with the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office Special Victim’s Unit.

Avendano has missed three previous sentencing hearings due to various reasons, according to officials.

The first hearing, Avendano refused to leave his cell, and there was not enough time to issue a court order to force his appearance due to scheduling.

Avendano missed two subsequent hearings because he was a “medical miss out.” Court officials did not discuss the reason Avendano was not in court on public record.

Jacqueline Wadsworth, 32, Avendano’s accomplice, received a much lighter sentence than her live-in boyfriend, Avedano, due to a number of factors, according to the District Attorney’s Office.

Wadsworth received probation, 256 days time served, a 52-week, probation-approved sexual compulsion class and register as a sex offender for life., officials said after her sentencing.

“She had no record, no history of this sort of behavior,” Kramer said in a previous story, in addressing the sentence and charge discrepancy. “According to the facts of the case, she was acting on his direction.”

The charges were primarily against Avedano, whom prosecutors believe primarily was responsible for the sexual abuse.

  1. 48 years? That’s all he gets for ruining a child’s life? Ridiculous. The death penalty wouldn’t be enough to pay for what he did.

  2. Terrible YES…. But at the very least HE is in jail (hopefully) for a very long time! (Unless of course he is released because of “state financial issues”).

What about his “accomplice’? What did this woman do … Or NOT do when he was doing this to kids? SHE apparently either condoned his behavior, participated, or stood by and allowed it to happen?!?

By NOT doing anything to stop this and help the kids… She is JUST AS GUILTY as he is, yet she is out in our community. SHE has been dismissed with ‘time served’ and probation?!?! THIS WOMAN IS IN OUR VALLEY!

    Thanks for posting her picture!!!

    • She has developmental disabilities and participated in the special Olympics year around. She was a pawn in his game. It is dark, sad, story with no winner, but maybe it will bring you peace to know she is not a psychopathic predator after your children.

  3. Laura,
If they actually used the death penalty it would help. The reality is that death row inmates have it better than the rest of the prison population. The law is as stupid as the politicians that make them.

  4. Why did the lady only get probation. I’m sure he was able to gain access to those children because of her. She should be equally responsible.

  5. He doesn’t deserve to be in jail he doesn’t deserve to be in jail he didn’t do nothing wrong people just talk and talk and say they he did thanks just because he has haters and said that he does like he doesn’t deserve to be in jail a perfect dad he take care of us really well on his kids he has his kids on check he is a real responsible dad he even takes his kids to school when he doesn’t have money he sells his stuff to feed his kids he tries his best to keep his kids with him but everybody took his chance to be with his kids what did he did nothing just people that hate him said that he rape someone but he didn’t he’s a really responsible guy and responsible dad

    • My nephew was one of his victims he may be good to his kids but what he did to my nephew wasn’t right and he used his kids to lure in my nephew which is sick as for the lady disabilities or not she had sex with my nephew as well she got a slap on the wrist on this and it makes me sick ! He was anally raped while forced to have sex with the female and he was orally copulated by the female while forced to do the same to the man they gave him alcohol got him drunk and did to him twice I feel no pity for either of them !

    • I’m sorry you must be very hurt in this situation but being a mother of a possible victim his actions are punishable by law. The courts , the lawyers all looked into this very carefully and what he did with young children was very inappropriate.

      • And what your saying is exactly what he told me to try and be alone with my 12 year old. But I’m smart and I don’t allow my children to go with grown men. He manipulates everyone he encountered to gain trust with his victims parents and children’s friends!!!

  6. He may Rest In Peace now
    Francisco Avendaño.
