A man who pleaded to stealing the bumper from Paul Walker’s Porsche after the “Fast and the Furious” star’s fiery fatal crash is now in jail again in lieu of nearly $1 million bail.

Santa Clarita Valley deputies arrested Jameson Brooks Witty, 21, on Saturday, after he allegedly threatened a woman at gunpoint and was then “subdued” by friends of the victim.

Prosecutors filed 16 charges against Witty, who reportedly forced his way into his ex-girlfriend’s house at gunpoint, and then demanded the woman leave with him, according to Sheriff’s Station officials.

“When confronted by the victim’s friends,” said Shirley Miller, spokeswoman for the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station, “the suspect produced a handgun from his waistband and fired a round into the ceiling.”

Once he was outside, Witty fired another shot, according to a Sheriff’s Station report.

At some point during the incident, the suspect put the gun back into his waistband at which point the victim’s friends subdued the suspect and took the gun away.

Responding deputies arrested the suspect while he attempted to leave the location.

His charges included vandalism, assault with a semiautomatic firearm, criminal threats and gross negligence in the discharge of a firearm, among others.

When Witty was 18, the Tujunga resident pleaded no contest, which is the same as a guilty plea, to three misdemeanor counts: grand theft of personal property, destroying evidence and obstructing a police officer.

Witty is currently being held at Men’s Central Jail in lieu of $945,000 bail.

A message on an Instagram account called “jamesonwitty” shortly after the crash contained the message: “Piece of Paul walkers car, took it off a tow truck at a stop light #paulwalker #rip #comeup” was found shortly after the crash.

Both men were already warned by a Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department deputy they could not take any part of the vehicle, according to the prosecutor, Brad Lieberman.

The Porsche in a fatal crash that killed Fast and the Furious star Paul Walker and Valencia CEO Roger Rodas was traveling about 100 mph, according to a Coroner’s Office report, a claim being challenged in a recent lawsuit.

The crash rendered the Porsche barely recognizable, and as the wrecked vehicle was towed away from the scene, Witty and Janow allegedly stole parts from the Porsche while the wreck was on a tow truck at a traffic light.

When the tow truck left the scene at about 10 p.m. that night, several vehicles followed it eastbound on Newhall Ranch Road.

At one point the driver of the tow truck stopped at the red light, while headed eastbound on Newhall Ranch Road at McBean Parkway.

A witness saw a male exit a vehicle that was following the tow truck and grab a piece of the wrecked Porsche off the tow truck bed. The male drove away with the stolen vehicle part.

The tow truck driver reported the theft to the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station, and their investigation yielded two suspects.

  1. I hope when they said ‘subdued’ they meant they beat the you-know-what outta him! I know I’d love that opportunity myself! ????Now, I hope they keep him there and throw away the darn key!! ????

  2. That’s what he deserves! Jameson is nothing but an idiot. Who does that crap!
