Paul Martinez, 40, of Saugus, appeared in court Jan. 9 and was sentenced to 180 days in county jail, fined $510, had his driver’s license revoked for three years and was given 60 months summary probation, said Ricardo Sandoval, a spokesman with the Los
Angeles County District Attorney.
Martinez was arrested on felony drunken driving and evading arrest charges after leading deputies on a chase through Bouquet Canyon Road, Seco Canyon Road, Copper Hill Drive and Caraway Lane on Sept. 28, 2014, said Lt. Tom Bryski of the Santa Clarita Sheriff’s Station.
“At around 12:30 a.m. Sunday, deputies tried to stop person driving recklessly who appeared to be driving drunk,” Bryski said. “Deputies used a stop stick to flatten the tires. He ran over it and the driver’s side rear tires wore out and fell off the car. [Martinez] spun out and we arrested him.”
Martinez was driving a black Ford Mustang during the pursuit, Bryski said.
Martinez was held on $35,000 bail.
