Tom Sizemore Settles $20 Million Lawsuit After Allegedly Running Over Stuntman On Santa Clarita Set

Actor Tom Sizemore recently settled a $20 million lawsuit after reportedly backing over a stuntman while intoxicated on the “Shooter” set at the Agua Dulce Airport in 2016, according to court filings.

The actor and the stuntman are both set to return to court in July to finalize the agreement.

Sizemore reportedly misunderstood directions given by a stunt coordinator and reversed a Cadillac SUV into Steven De Castro, pinning the man under the car. Paramedics airlifted Del Castro to a nearby hospital.

De Castro sued production chiefs at Viacom and Paramount along with Sizemore, claiming that Sizemore should not have been operating a vehicle because he was under the influence of alcohol, along with assertions of negligence, battery, assault, and intentional infliction of emotional distress. De Castro asked for $20 million in damages.

Sizemore said he had not been drinking and offered to take a urine test immediately after the incident, but was told by producers on set that it was not necessary.

The 54-year-old actor was fired from the television adaptation of the 2007 film several weeks later, after Sizemore was arrested for a domestic violence incident in which bystanders called the police after hearing the screams of a woman.

Upon arrival, the woman told police that Sizemore had struck her multiple times on her head and face during an argument.

The actor, best known for his roles in “Saving Private Ryan” and “Black Hawk Down,” has a history of arrests, ranging from drug charges to battery against multiple women, including one incident in which he was accused of molesting an 11-year-old actress on the set of a 2003 film.

  1. This story is only the tip of his iceberg… everyone who works in feature production knows of his long history of drinking and substance abuse (on Set and at home). Or (like me) they’ve been called by him in the middle of the night by him, asking to borrow a couple of grand. Goodnight Tom.
