The charges include rape by use of drugs, oral copulation of an unconscious person, penetration by a foreign object and a special allegation because Lindsey has two prior “strikes,” or convictions.
In total, he stands accused of ten charges — two felony counts of rape of an unconscious person, one felony count of oral copulations of an unconscious person, two felony counts of sexual penetration by foreign object, one misdemeanor count of resist, obstruct, delay of peace officer or EMT, one felony count of possession of firearm by a felon with three priors, two felony counts of rape by use of drugs and one felony counts of oral copulation by anesthesia or controlled substance, according to court documents.
Deputy District Attorney Jon Hatami, who’s in charge of the case’s prosecution, said if convicted, Hatami could face life in prison due to his criminal past.
Lindsey was convicted and served time in Indiana for a 1965 rape-murder charge. He moved to Southern California after being paroled in 1998.
In 2005, he was convicted for failing to register as a sex offender, and was sentenced to four years in state prison.
Opening statements are expected to begin Wednesday.
