A dead body was reportedly found on The Old Road in Santa Clarita Friday afternoon, and is being investigated by Homicide detectives.

“We’re conducting a homicide investigation,” said Lt. Leo Bauer with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.

The body was discovered in the 23500 block of The Old Road, at a mobile home park.

Detectives with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Homicide Bureau are actively investigating the death as of 3:45 p.m. Friday.

The victim, described by Homicide officials as a female, has not been identified pending notification of next of kin.

Officials responded to a female victim in her 40s who was unresponsive, said Investigator Morales with the LASD’s Homicide Bureau. Investigators are unsure of the cause of death Friday afternoon.
