Eraclio Baldovinos, 32, was booked on suspicion of causing great bodily harm on an elder, after deputies responded to a call in Canyon Country.
“We received a call regarding a possible domestic violence situation,” said Lt. Doug Mohrhoff of the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station. “When deputies arrived they arrested one on suspicion of elder abuse.”
A person in the home said Baldovinos knocked the victim on the floor and then dragged her, added Mohrhoff.
The suspect was booked with a felony charge for abuse against an elder or other dependent adults deserving of “special consideration and protection.”
“Elders and dependent adults may be confused, on various medications, mentally or physically impaired, or incompetent, and therefore less able to protect themselves, to understand or report criminal conduct, or to testify in court proceedings on their own behalf,” according to the Penal Code.
Baldovinos is being held on $50,000 bail and is expected to be arraigned at the San Fernando Courthouse on March 7.
