Sometime between January 9 and 10, several suspects broke into a vehicle in the 27000 block of Woodlands Drive in Valencia, stealing credit cards and other items from the car, said Shirley Miller, a spokeswoman for the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.

Surveillance camera footage gave investigators a clear look at the four suspects and their vehicle.

A week later, on Jan. 17, deputies patrolling in Canyon Country, near the 26700 block of Carl Boyer Dr., recognized the suspect’s vehicle from the footage, and saw one of the male suspects headed towards the car with several items purchased from a nearby store, Miller said.

Deputies detained all four suspects, two men and two women, and discovered the newly bought items were also bought with another stolen credit card that had been taken that morning.

Deputies identified three new victims of crimes while searching the vehicle, according to Miller.

The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office filed 18 counts against four Bakersfield residents: 32-year-old Kristina Black, 52-year-old Jessica Fisher, 31-year-old Brandon Lane and 26-year-old Romel Fatouhi.c

Bail for the quartet ranges from $70,000 to $430,000 because some of the suspects had prior criminal histories.

  1. When are local businesses going to compare a credit cards with proper identification? The new chip technology doesn’t seem to be the answer to fraud.
