“A suspect attempted to break in to a house on Scherzinger Lane in the early morning hours,” said Lt. Ignacio Somoano. “The house was occupied and the residents were able to stop the suspect from making from entry.”

The residents said the suspect has been in the area for a while and recognized him from before, Somoano said.

After they stopped the suspect from making entry, Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s deputies were notified and given a description of the suspect.

Deputies found the suspect near Sierra Highway and Sarabande Lane.

The suspect was arrested in the parking lot of the Mint Canyon Moose Lodge at the 18000 block of Sierra Hwy at around 11 a.m. No injuries to deputies or the suspect were reported.
