Deputies Investigate Newhall Bank Robbery

Deputies are investigating after a man robbed a Newhall bank Wednesday afternoon, according to officials with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.

The call came out shortly before 4 p.m. for a reported bank robbery at the Chase bank on Lyons Ave. in Newhall, said Sgt. Caplinger.

A male suspect allegedly handed the teller a note, but did not display a weapon.

He made off with an unspecified amount of cash, Caplinger said.

Deputies are still in the preliminary stage of the investigation, Caplinger said.

Witnesses reported a white SUV in the area that was potentially used as the suspect’s getaway vehicle, but officials are still working to determine the make and model of the car.
