Deputies released footage of a fatal hit and run Sunday night in Newhall in hopes that it will generate a suspect or information about the suspect’s vehicle.

Deputies are seeking additional footage from other cameras that were available in the area, because the camera is so far away.
The collision happened around 9 p.m. on Monday night on the southbound, right-most lane on Newhall Avenue, near the Polynesian Mobile Home Park.
Anyone who can identify the vehicle based on the footage is asked to call the Sheriff’s Station’s Traffic Unit, at 661-255-1121.
The Coroner’s Office has not officially released the identity of the deceased, because the victim died in the hospital, and the body has not yet been officially examined.
Some news outlets have reported the victim’s name. KHTS AM-1220 is choosing not to out of respect for the privacy of the victim’s family.
The initial identification is that the victim was a 51-year-old Hispanic male.
