Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station deputies have released the crime reports for the week of Jan. 26 to Feb. 1.

A suspect wanted for car theft, assaulting an officer and an outstanding warrant is in custody after an hourslong Monday night standoff in Newhall. 

LAPD Detectives with the Sexually Exploited Child Unit’s Juvenile Division are investigating allegations from multiple Einstein Academy students, LAPD officials said this week.

A Castaic woman accused of setting her own house on fire pleaded no contest and was sentenced Jan. 22, officials said. 

A Santa Clarita man who is charged with repeatedly raping his daughter over the course of a year is expected to go to trial later this month.

Here are the crime reports for Canyon Country East, Canyon Country West, Castaic/ Val Verde, Saugus, and Valencia.

Canyon Country East

A robbery occurred near the 27300 block of Evi Lane. The victim was skateboarding near the pool area and was approached from behind and punched in the head by person(s) unknown. Person(s) unknown stole personal items from victim. This incident is currently under investigation by Santa Clarita Valley Station detectives.

A burglary occurred near the 29300 block of O’Hare Court. Person(s) unknown entered the residence and ransacked the master bedroom and stole several items from the home. This incident is currently under investigation by Santa Clarita Valley Station detectives.

A grand theft auto occurred near the block of 20200 Stevie Court. The victim reported their vehicle stolen and one suspect was arrested by deputy personal. This incident is currently under investigation by Santa Clarita Valley Station detectives.

A vehicle burglary occurred near the block of 28900 Silver Saddle Circle. Person(s) unknown forced entry into the victim’s vehicle. This incident is currently under investigation by Santa Clarita Valley Station detectives.

An attempt burglary occurred near the block of 16400 west Palomino Place. Person(s) unknown tore off the screen to her bedroom window and removed several other window screens to her residence windows. This incident is currently under investigation by Santa Clarita Valley Station detectives.

A shoplifting occurred near the block of 19300 Golden Valley Road. One person was apprehended and arrested for shoplifting. This incident is currently under investigation by Santa Clarita Valley Station detectives.

Canyon Country West

A commercial burglary occurred near the 26700 block of Claudette Street.  Person(s) unknown pried open the victims garage entry door and stole items from within.  This incident is currently under investigation by Santa Clarita Valley Station detectives.

An attempt commercial burglary occurred near the 26900 block of Flo Lane.  Person(s) unknown attempted to pry open the victims garage entry door, but was unsuccessful in doing so.  This incident is currently under investigation by Santa Clarita Valley Station detectives.

A commercial burglary occurred near the 21100 block of Centre Pointe Parkway.  Person(s) unknown cut the lock off a storage container and stole numerous items from within.  This incident is currently under investigation by Santa Clarita Valley Station detectives.

A grand theft occurred near the 27100 block of Crossglade Avenue.  One suspect was arrested for stealing numerous high dollar items from the victim.  The suspect and victim were in a former dating relationship. This incident is currently under investigation by Santa Clarita Valley Station detectives.

A grand theft auto occurred near the 27500 block of Hidaway Avenue. Person(s) unknown stole the victim’s vehicle which was parked near the above location. This incident is currently under investigation by Santa Clarita Valley Station detectives.

A vehicle burglary occurred near the 26800 block of Sack Court.  Person(s) unknown forced entry into the truck of the victims vehicle and stole items from within.This incident is currently under investigation by Santa Clarita Valley Station detectives.

A shoplifting occurred near the 26900 block of Sierra Highway. One suspect was arrested for stealing store items and failing to pay for them. This incident is currently under investigation by Santa Clarita Valley Station detectives.

Castaic/Val Verde

An assault with a deadly weapon occurred from the 27000 block of Violin Canyon Road. The suspect threw a knife at his brother and mother during a family disturbance. The suspect is in custody.

A residential burglary was reported from the 28000 Hayward Drive. The victim reported a dishwasher, window blinds and a vacuum missing from his house. The victim stated his house is currently for sale due to recent divorce. There were no signs of forced entry into the residence.

A theft was reported from the 31000 block of Ridge Route Road. L.A. County Fire squad 149 reported a terror response backpack missing from one of their work trucks.  It is unknown where during the course of the day the theft occurred. The items were valued at $975.

A theft was reported from the 31000 block of Quartz Lane. The victim was in the process of moving and noticed her Mossberg 12 gauge shotgun was missing from her bedroom. There were no signs of forced entry to the house.

Saugus

A residential burglary was reported near the 27400 block of Seco Canyon Road.  In this incident the suspect entered through a window at the rear of the location.  The suspect stole two external hard drives from the location.

A petty theft was reported near the 21400 Rosedell Drive.  In this incident the suspect was checking car doors to see if they were un locked.  The victim saw the suspect ransacking his vehicle so he detained her pending deputies’ arrival. The suspect was arrested for theft from a vehicle and narcotics possession.

An unknown person cut away a piece of Saugus High Schools perimeter fence and stole it.  The fence is chain link and is 6’ X 5’.

A grand theft auto was reported from the 26600 block of Bouquet Canyon Road.  The victims 2000 Lexus ES300 was stolen from the location and was later recovered from the Bridgeport area in Valencia.

With tax season coming up remember that the IRS will never tell you that you will be arrested for not paying your taxes on time or request a tax payment over the phone.  There have been numerous scams involving this type of activity recently.

Valencia

An Assault with a deadly weapon on a peace officer occurred near the 27000 block of Las Mananitas Drive.  A male suspect tried to force entry into a residence by kicking down the door.  The victims called the Sheriff’s station right away, and deputies were on scene within seconds.  The suspect ran towards his vehicle and tried to flee the area while the deputy was present.  In the suspects attempt to flee the area he tried to run over the deputy with his vehicle.  The suspect led the deputies on a short vehicle pursuit in the neighborhood.  At the conclusion of the pursuit the suspect fought with the deputies before being taken into custody.

An assault with a deadly weapon occurred near the area of the Santa Clara River bed.  A male white suspect pointed a handgun at the victim while he was working in the wash clearing brush.  The suspect is a transient from the wash and was upset over the fact the victim was making noise.

A residential burglary occurred near the 24700 block of Magic Mountain Parkway.  Suspect(s) unknown entered the victim’s open and unlocked garage and stole numerous items from inside his garage.

A garage burglary occurred near the 27600 block of Woodfield Place.  Suspect unknown entered the victims open garage and unlocked vehicle and stole personal items from inside her purse.  Her vehicle had been ransacked as well and numerous other items were missing.

A vehicle theft occurred near the 24000 block of Creekside Road. The victim had his 2012 Nissan stolen from the location.  The vehicle was recovered 3 days later in Newhall.

A robbery occurred near the 28500 block of Westinghouse Place.  The suspect was arrested for trying to steal the victims’ iPad while he was outside smoking a cigarette.  The suspect grabbed the iPad and kicked the victim in the leg and tried to get away.  The suspect was arrested by patrol deputies without incident.

A grand theft occurred near the 28100 block of McBean Parkway.  Suspect(s) unknown entered the resident’s gym area and stole the entire rack of dumbbells from the gym.  They also stole numerous medicine balls.

A vehicle burglary occurred near the 23500 block of Avenida Rotella.  Suspect unknown broke into the victim’s’ vehicle and stole a bag containing several items of clothing.

A second vehicle burglary occurred near the 27100 block of Tourney Road.  Suspect unknown broke into the victims’ vehicle by breaking two windows to the vehicle.

Numerous petty thefts occurred throughout the Santa Clarita Valley.  In most cases it appears the victim’s forgot to lock their car doors and close their garage doors.  As always please remember to lock your vehicles doors and do not leave anything in plain sight.
