According to Santa Clarita Sheriff’s officials, the 50-something-year-old man’s parents are outside the residence in the 25300 block of Via Telino and he is refusing to come out.

Update 7:19 p.m.

“We had a report of a family disturbance where the suspect was on parole got into an argument with the family,” said Lt. Derek Sabatini with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station. “The family went outside and we tried talking him out of the house. He turned himself in and we are going to take him for a parole violation.

“The original report of assault with a deadly weapon appears to be untrue. There may have been knife involved but no threat was made with the knife.”
