Update: Woman Arrested In Canyon Country Shooting Death

A Canyon Country woman has been arrested on murder charges after allegedly shooting a man in the head early Sunday morning.

A 25-year-old woman was arrested after Santa Clarita Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a call at the 18000 block of Danielson Street involving a domestic dispute around 5:30 a.m., according to Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Deputies said Sunday.

Both victims were taken to a local hospital, where a 28-year-old man was pronounced dead from a gunshot wound to the head.

The other victim, a 56-year-old man had injuries consistent with a graze wound to the head but is expected to survive, according to Santa Clarita Sheriff’s Station Deputies.

According to the surviving victims, the suspect is the sister of the 28-year-old victim and the daughter of the 56-year-old man.

Homicide detectives are in the process of determining what caused the suspect to shoot the victims, according to a press release from the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department.

A semi-automatic handgun was recovered at the scene and identified as the murder weapon.

The identities of those involved have not been released, and the investigation is ongoing.
