Jonathan Blake Heely, 58, the director of Music Publishing at The Walt Disney Company, is slated to return to court next month to answer for three counts of lewd acts upon children, according to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office.

“He pleaded not guilty at the arraignment last Thursday,” said Greg Risling, spokesperson for the District Attorney’s office. “His next court date is Jan. 10 for a preliminary hearing setting in San Fernando.”

Heely has been charged with three counts of lewd acts upon children, the youngest of which was under the age of 14 years, according to the felony complaint against him.

The Disney executive arrested for child sex abuse is alleged to have “willfully, unlawfully, and lewdly commit a lewd and lascivious act upon and with the body and certain parts and members thereof (Victim 1), a child under the age of fourteen years, with the intent of arousing, appealing to, and gratifying the lust, passions and sexual desires of the said defendant and the said child,” according to court documents.

The felony complaint alleges that these incidents started more than 10 years ago.

Victim 1 was acted upon “on or between June, 2006 and June, 2010,” according to the criminal complaint.

Additionally, the charges detail another child, Victim 2, who was also “willfully, unlawfully and lewdly” acted upon by Heely.

Victim 2 was acted upon even earlier than Victim 1, with the criminal complaint stating that the alleged incidents occurred in a period over a decade ago, from August 2004 to August 2005.

A Disney spokesman said the company suspended Heely late on Friday, after being informed of the charges when they were first reported by Variety.

“Immediately upon learning of this situation tonight, he has been suspended without pay until the matter is resolved by the courts,” the spokesman said.

Heely was arrested on Nov. 16 by deputies with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station, according to Variety’s initial report.

Booking records indicate he was later released on $150,000 bail.

  1. So tragic and despicable when a child is abused. If we as a society become desensitized to these things and don’t hold predators accountable, our moral standing in the world is gone.

  2. Caleb, you are reporting sensationalism. Jon has been falsely accused by a person who hates him. There is no truth to this accusation and you are helping to ruin a good man’s reputation. You have no business reporting something that has not been proven true. Your write up is shameful.

  3. This is a terrible way to treat an innocent man. Why does the media and Disney treat him as a convicted criminal. These allegations were made by some people who are influenced by drugs and mental instability. It is a tragedy to see a good man’s life torn apart for no reason. Shame on you Disney.

  4. The rush to judgment, reporting on accusations as if the accused is assumed guilty has already irreparably ruined this man’s and his wife’s lives. If he is found innocent, which the facts of the case strongly support, no retraction either from those in the Signal, here on KHTS, from Disney or from the likes of Jake Tapper will ever repair the damage done by these false, malicious, opportunistic and manipulative accusations.
