Deputies received a call Saturday regarding target shooting going on in the wash near Soledad Canyon Road and a mobile home park, said Shirley Miller, spokesperson for the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.
“Responding deputies arrested a 55-year-old man from Van Nuys, who also happened to be a convicted felon,” said Miller.
The suspect was charged with two felonies, one for being a felon in possession of a firearm and another for being a felon in possession of ammunition, according to officials.
“If you’re a convicted felon, it’s probably not a good idea to make a trip to SCV to practice your target shooting,” said Miller.
