“We took four people into custody,” said Lt. Leo Bauer with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station, adding that the crash “snapped a natural gas line.”
The collision with the building happened around 4:30 p.m.
The Shell Gas station is located near the intersection of Cinema Drive and Valencia Boulevard. According to a KHTS reporter at the scene, traffic in the area had been completely stopped while deputies and firefighters from the Los Angeles County Fire Department assess the damage to the natural gas line.
Traffic attempting to turn onto Valencia Boulevard was being stopped by deputies at Bouquet Canyon Road as of 5 p.m.
Bauer said the collision reportedly involved a stolen vehicle, but said it was unclear if all four people detained at the scene would be arrested as suspects in the theft.
