The suspects pursued by deputies, described as black men, reportedly stole multiple computers from the Apple store near the intersection of Magic Mountain Parkway and Valencia Boulevard at 11:35 a.m. Wednesday.
“Four male blacks went into the store and grabbed the laptops and took off,” said Shirley Miller, spokeswoman for the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.
The suspects then allegedly fled in a white Lexus with an unidentified female driver, Miller said.
They were chased up the northbound I-5 Freeway by Santa Clarita deputies, but the pursuit was called off because the vehicle being chased was exceeding safe speeds, going as fast as 100 mph, Miller said.

Kudos to the deputies for calling off the chase due to safety concerns. They did the right thing. Material objects are not worth risking injury or death.
Should have shot the tires out
I wonder if you would say kudos if these subhumans stole your computers…, now all criminals know that driving dangerously works. I understand that the deputies made a decision for safety reasons, I would be more forgiving if they had their identities, or the cars’ license number, although that could be no good if the car was stolen to begin with. In Santa Clarita we see a big rise in such theft. Placing armed guards or arming the employees are the only and best way to stop such crime, since the police authorities seem useless, at least in this case.
Really Nick? “The police authorities seem useless”.
Apple’s public value is estimated at 1 trillion dollars. A few computer is nothing to them. What would you be saying if the deputies continued chasing these thieves, they crashed and killed some innocent family?
I guarantee none of these deputies wanted to let these scumbags get away but they did the right thing.
Bella, this is why there are helicopters. The robbers know when the police will back off. And they will keep doing the same robbery. So then you wonder, where is the helicopters when there is a chase?
Why did the police not radio ahead so that another patrol can meet them further up the freeway?, then follow up with the helicopter.
We cannot let this scumbags get away as they will come back, perhaps much bigger next time if not in Valencia, at another city.
