Magic Mountain Parkway Robbery Search Yields Arrests

Despite initial reports from deputies on scene, Santa Clarita Sheriff’s Station officials confirmed that there were detainments of individuals, but no arrests made in connection to the strong armed robbery. However, two suspects unrelated to the strong armed robbery were arrested during the containment.

UPDATE 4:15 p.m. — “We do not have a suspect in custody in connection to the strong armed robbery,” said Lt. Bauer, Santa Clarita Sheriff’s Station. “We had some people detained but none of them were the suspect and they were released. ”

However, Santa Clarita Sheriff’s Station deputies did not break down the containment without any arrests.

“During the process of detainment we found two people burglarizing a vehicle inside the containment and arrested both for vehicle burglary and possession of illegal narcotics,” said Lt. Bauer.

UPDATE 3:45 p.m. — Officials on scene have confirmed they have a suspect in custody.

UPDATE 3:25 p.m. — LASD officials have confirmed that the search continues for the strong-armed robbery suspect.

The Santa Clarita Sheriff’s Station is responding to a report of a strong armed robbery on the 24000 block of Magic Mountain Pkwy.

“We responded to a call about a strong armed robbery suspect who snatched a cellphone from a victim, who is now hiding in an apartment complex in the area,” said Lt. Bauer, Santa Clarita Sheriff’s Station. “Deputies have the area contained and are actively looking for the suspect.”

The call came in at approximately 2 p.m. early Saturday afternoon.

“Suspect was last seen at around 2:15 p.m.,” said Lt. Bauer.
