In the late afternoon Tuesday, an incident of road rage resulted in Wesley G. Klotthor, 26, brandishing a pellet gun in the direction of a victim in his 70’s.

“This looks like a case of road rage,” said Shirley Miller, spokesperson for the Santa Clarita Sheriff’s Station. “The suspect is believed to have become impatient with another driver, pulled out the pellet gun, and that’s where it all started.”

Miller went on to say that the victim believed the weapon to be real, however, was still able to follow the suspect to Dapper Dan’s carwash at the corner of Magic Mountain and Bouquet Canyon Road. The victim then alerted Santa Clarita Sheriff’s station deputies.

“Deputies detained the suspect at the car wash following the incident,” said Miller. “In the backseat of the suspects car was a three month old baby.”

Klotthor was arrested on a felony charge for child endangerment, as well as a misdemeanor for exhibiting and imitating a firearm.

According to official records, Klotthor was booked by 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, and is being held in lieu of $125,000 bail.
