Missing Palmdale Woman Last Seen Christmas Day Found

A missing Palmdale woman who was last seen Christmas day was found Saturday, and a Palmdale man was subsequently arrested.

Deputies from the Palmdale Sheriff’s Station found the man and woman when an investigation led them to the 1100 block of East Avenue Q-4, according to a news release.

The victim was found hidden inside an apartment and “appeared extremely fearful.”

The man, identified as Giovanni McKinnis, is the father of the victim’s child. McKinnis, 19, was arrested and booked on a number of felony charges, including attempted murder, kidnapping, domestic violence restraining order violation, and false imprisonment. His bail is $1 million.

The victim’s mother claims to have witnessed the kidnapping and an assault on her daughter Christmas day, but did not call police because McKinnis reportedly threatened the victim and their child.

The victim’s father reported her missing Saturday.
