Two suspects wanted in connection with the death of a Gorman woman and the kidnapping of her children were arrested in Pueblo, Colo. Thursday afternoon, officials said.

Their capture is the latest chapter in the story that began with the discovery of a lifeless body on the side of a remote stretch of road in Lebec on Sunday, Aug. 14.

The suspects in that murder, Brittany Humphrey, 22, and Joshua Robertson, 27, were taken into custody near a Pueblo motel around noon Thursday, after a Pueblo Police Department and FBI Task Force caught up to them around noon. Police found a missing 18-month-old baby, Madisyn Harper, with Brittany. Robertson was located two blocks away, according to Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

Madisyn was unharmed and is now in the custody of local authorities.

Detectives believe Harvill was living with Robertson and Humphrey, the victim’s half-sister, at the time of her death. Harvill’s body was found with an apparent head wound, in a remote area of Gorman Post Road just north of the 138 freeway.

Homicide detectives were not aware of a dispute or conflict between the family members.

Robertson was previously on probation. Robertson has a criminal history, was on Post Release Community Supervision, and has a previous arrest for possession of a firearm
